During my summer 1996 sabbatical, I took advantage of the 'time on my hands' to dive
into a pile of classics and other books that I'd wanted to get
to for a long time. The list included:
- Isaac Asimov: I, Robot
- Isaac Asimov: The Foundation Trilogy
- Nathaniel Branden: Judgement Day
- Michael Crichton: The Lost World
- Charles Dickens: Great Expectations
- Ernest Hemingway: The Snows of Kilimanjaro and Other Stories
- Ernest Hemingway: The Sun Also Rises
- John Irving: The Cider House Rules
- Ayn Rand: Atlas Shrugged (for the second time)
- J.D. Salinger: The Catcher In The Rye
- J.D. Salinger: Franny and Zooey
- Carl Sagan: The Garden of Eden
- Henry David Thoreau: Walden (ok, so it's the third
time I've read it...)
- Alvin Toffler: Future Shock
- Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.: Player Piano
Still have a bunch of books in my to-read pile, though. I suppose
there are worse addictions than used bookstores.....
